Ohio Population Projections & Trends: A
County by County and State Study
During the next 20 years, the national older population, as well as the population in Ohio, will increase in number and proportion. In anticipation of this impending change, we have created a series of reports to help Ohio area agencies on aging, service providers, and other organizations not directly involved in aging services to better plan for the needs of the aging population. Below are the reports presenting the unique profile of the 60+ population in each of Ohio's 88 counties and in the state. The reports include: projected number of older population; predicted number of disabled older population; and trends in indicators of need for care such as poverty, marital status, living alone, and educational attainment by gender and by age group.
Aging in Ohio: Population Aged 65+
1990 and 2000, by County
Data presented here illustrate recent trends in Ohio's aging population by comparing 1990 and 2000 Census data. Information includes but is not restricted to: Resident population by age group, percent of population who are women, and the percent change in these categories over the 10-year period. For ease of presentation the data are provided as ten separate tables with groups of nine counties per table. State data are included in each table for comparison purposes.
