Research
In support of our mission to do work that makes a positive difference in the lives of aging individuals, their families and communities, and to meet the needs of aging societies, Scripps Gerontology Center has a broad research agenda. Current areas of research include:
- health, disability, and longevity
- long-term care policy, systems, and services
- workforce issues and older workers
- income security
- racial and ethnic diversity and aging
- translational health
- quality improvement
- persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other related conditions
- global aging
- technology and aging
- caregiving
- demography
The Center assists faculty and students with research proposals and projects related to aging and awards several graduate assistantships each year. In addition, Scripps Gerontology Center specializes in evaluation research and provides high quality applied research to legislators, public administrators, planners, service providers, gerontology students, academicians, other researchers, and the general public.
